Samsung Galaxy Tab…Hot or Not?

Finally, my fellow Android Moms, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has come to our rescue! This tab has a beautiful, vibrant 7” screen perfect for our busy, hectic lifestyles. And since it will be available through Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T we can ALL get our hands on one.

The Tab is powered by Android 2.2 OS and has an excellent battery life that can last up to 7 hours of movie viewing! Just think how quiet waiting in the doctor’s office will be now. Not only are we going to love our new Tab, but so will our kids. With the abundance of children’s learning games in the Android Market our kids will stay occupied and will love learning on our Tab.

Not only can you take the kid’s to Dance and Soccer practice and update your Facebook and Twitter accounts while you wait, you can take videos of your darlings and edit them before sending them to Grandma and Grandpa. You can even take pictures of them with the 3 megapixel camera….with flash! And thank goodness it is small enough to fit in one hand, so you can still wave at the cutie pies when they make that great play!

At the end of the day you can video chat with Dad on his way home from work, while you cook dinner from that amazing recipe you found online while waiting in line at the bank! And I am sure you can find a nice little bedtime story to read to the kids before bed!

This is one way Samsung is marketing their Galaxy Tab…towards us busy, on-the-go, moms. It sounded fantastic to me, but then I realized, I can do all this on my PHONE. So, why would I want to purchase this Tab? I do love the size of the Tab and how long the battery lasts, but you can’t make calls from the Tab! I have Sprint, and with a new 2-year agreement, I can purchase the Tab for $400….whoa! Oh, and that is on top of the regular monthly data plan fee that you will have to have (plus the one you already pay for your phone). Maybe there is something I am missing? What do you moms think? Will you be purchasing the Galaxy Tab or sticking solely to your Android phone?

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

I’m waiting for a wi-fi version of the Galaxy Tab. No way I’m paying for 2 data plans, not worth it to me. Toys R Us in Europe is going to have a wi-fi only tablet in stores so hopefully we will too. :)

I like its 7″ screen size, however it’s still not even close to replace your laptop screen and your Android phone does lots of it, anyway. However it would be a consideration if I’m buying my first Android device…

Thanks, thats quite useful stuff to know! I admit I’m a bit hopeless in the kitchen, but I’m trying my best to learn. Admitting iis the first step right!? I promised to cook something for my wife this weekend for the first time – very exciting! I found some really simple recipes at this site, seems to be designed exactly with people like me in mind, which is great! Anyway, thanks for your tips, I’ll be sure to bookmark this site to read more later.
