If you are given the task to pick just two apps from your Android phone that you can’t live without, what would you choose? Hard right? I was given this task and I have to tell you, I am having the hardest time.
I think that I have decided that although I do enjoy the social and entertainment values of my phone, what I really depend on my phone for is making my life easier. Besides my gmail calendar, which I absolutely cannot live without, I frequently depend on Evernote. I love being able to upload notes, files, pictures and then have the ability to access them from where ever I am. I recently took a picture of a Sangria recipe, uploaded it to Evernote, then used the picture to shop for the ingredients. It is also a great tool to use when you need to access information such as passwords, social security numbers or a voice note to myself about an application I heard about from my favorite AndroidGuys podcast.
The second app that I use is PdaNet. This application allows me to tether my computer to my Android phone so that I can surf the web using my phones 3G connection. This is invaluable when you need a WiFi hotspot and can’t find one.
Of course I also have to give honorable mention to both the Nook and Kindle apps because I am often reading books on my Android phone to pass time while I am waiting around for my kids at practices, doctor’s appointments and so on and so on.
