Two Apps I Can’t LIVE Without!

I was given an assignment to pick two apps from the Android market and I can only use these two apps. I use a lot of different apps and different types of apps, so this assignment was hard for me. As I started really thinking about it and really focusing on the 2 apps I use day in and day out, and thought about what would happen if all my apps were taken away and I could only use 2 apps from the market, I came to the conclusion that I could not go long without TweetDeck and Handcent SMS.

I can not go a day without checking Facebook and Twitter, even if I don’t post anything, I have to feel connected socially to everyone else. I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 girls, so I feel a little disconnected from the world sometimes. I am from Texas and have lived in Michigan for the past 4 years, so I have a lot of friends and family back in Texas, with the help of Facebook and Twitter I can stay in touch with everyone….and thank goodness for TweetDeck, I can do it at the same place and same time!

As for Handcent SMS, for anyone that knows me, you know I would much rather text than talk. I am not much of a “phone talker”. Like I said before, mother of three girls, I am pretty busy so I don’t have time to sit and chat. So for my texting addiction I have chosen Handcent SMS. I love how customizable it is. I can change the colors to match my current girly theme and I love having a screen pop-up when a new text message comes in which allows you to reply from any program you are in.

These are my two ‘must have, can’t live without’ apps. What are yours?

Gotta say the official Twitter app has really pulled itself together with the last few updates. It has almost all the functionality other apps have (twitlonger support please) while having a clean interface that makes navigating a snap.

The second is Shazam. It’s ability to identify songs is not just a great trick but a good way to stay organized and up to date on new music. With hundreds of songs tagged, new and old, I’m able to easily figure out the song that just won’t get out of my head!

Yes, I do LOVE Shazam too!! I have to say that the official Twitter app is much better than it used to be. I just love TweetDeck for the fact that I can link twitter and facebook together in the same place.

Ditto on Handcent SMS! Definitely better than the stock messaging app. My other must-have app is K9 Mail. It has more options that the native Android email client, which is particularly useful in terms of being able to set email check frequency to conserve battery power.
