If Google offers a service, I use it. That’s why my two most treasured apps are interfaces to existing google services that I am already using. If it’s already been done right, why mess with perfection? The two applications listed below are great examples of that, and are the ones that I just can’t see myself living without!
gtasks: There are so many list options for android: Astrid, Springpad, Evernote, Postit Desk… I have tried them all. The list that works best for my needs is the good old fashioned google tasks. Gtasks is simple but still provides everything I need with a clean interface between google tasks and my android phone. The widget is great for home screen reminders. It keeps me on top of my agenda so I never miss a library-book due date or an essential from the grocery store.
NewsRob: I LOVE google reader. I love checking in on my unread articles in the morning and conquering them down to zero in the afternoon. NewsRob is essential for helping me feed this addiction, without it I wouldn’t be able to knock out a couple hundred articles on my way to work. My favorite feature is that it saves the articles for offline reading, including photos. As a New York City subway rider I cherish this aspect for providing me an alternative to the AM New York .
Just in case you couldn’t tell, I LOVE GOOGLE! That is why both apps that I chose revolved around that amazing Google name, I stick with the best!
