AndroidGals is very proud to be apart of a great fundraiser that is happening this weekend! Pong For Hope is taking place in Warrensburg, MO and starts TODAY Friday, February 18th at NOON. The best part about this fundraiser is that the kids and staff from AndroidGuys and AndroidGals will being playing pong to raise money for the American Heart Association. We will NOT stop until you stop donating. That’s right, old school pong 24/7! Wondering how we are going to be staying up all night playing ? The kid’s goal is set at $6,000 and they are relying on you to let them stay up ALL WEEKEND playing pong. So please try and contribute and if you can’t, please spread the word around. PONG for Hope was born out of the desire for the Lifeblood Youth group of First Church of the Nazarene in Warrensburg, MO to do something bigger than we had ever done.  It started last year as we participated in the 30 Hour Famine, like we usually do every year.  Tired of just collecting a few small donations, the youth group wanted to do something that would both reach out to a larger population of people, but also to raise awareness of different issues facing people in the world.

There is no larger audience than the internet!  So, being inspired by Desert Bus for Hope which raises money for Child’s Play, we came up with PONG for Hope.  The idea is simple.  You donate money, the more money that comes in, the longer we play the original arcade game of PONG.  PONG may just be the most boring game in the world nowadays, and rest assured, playing it for days on end is no fun!  But it is funny to make us play longer, and we love it because we raise more money for those in need.

This year, we have selected the American Heart Association as the recipient of our efforts.  Heart attacks and strokes are the 1st and 3rd causes of death in Americans, chances are if you are reading this, you have been affected by heart disease either directly or in the form of a friend of family member.  All donations from this year’s PONG for Hope will be going directly to the American Heart Association to help fund further research for treatment for heart disease, and to help raise awareness to help save lives.
