Last year fo
r Christmas, I asked Santa for a Andy friendly and Quietly Brilliant HTC tablet. He’s a little late, and didn’t bring the 10 inch like I asked, but who am I to complain! HTC never let’s me down, this device felt like a dream. Carrying the brand name, “EVO” I’m sure it won’t disappoint us! We were at the press event that unviled this sleek and sexy 7 inch tablet with a 1024 x 600 touchscreen display. Not only did HTC introduce us to a new tablet technology that we will get into a bit later. HTC of course included their latest version of Sense. (Here is a video we took at CTIA2011) This device was announced at Sprint’s exclusive press event that we attended at CTIA2011. It was along side the EVO 3D announcement. Here are the official features and specs on Sprint’s first tablet.

The one feature that really sets this tablet apart from the Galaxy Tab line or the XOOM, is the “HTC Scribe” technology. The HTC EVO View 4G allows a whole new adventure. The digital pen (sold separately) allows for the new tablet experience and unlocks so many capabilities. “Using this HTC Scribe Pen combined with applications like Evernote™, a leading notes application and service, the user will have the ability to capture and make notes on Web pages, ebooks, PDF documents and more, in an easy and natural way.” We were even demoed the ability to share any screenshot after using the pen to “mark up” the screen. The HTC representatives that were demoing these devices to us, were really pushing the point of being able to mark up ANY “screen”. Even while on your home screen, you are allowed to “write over” over it. This feature should be quite handy for artists, teachers, the corporate world, moms on the go, and anyone who just likes to play and draw!
This tablet also features a font facing 1.3 megapixel camera for those video chats on the go. As well as a 5.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with HD-capable video camcorder. Sprint said it best, “With integrated HD-video (720p) capture and the 4G speeds of HTC EVO View 4G, slow uploads and grainy video are a thing of the past.”
We were told at the event, that we should expect to see this device released sometime in the summer. We are very interested to see what Sprint does as far as pricing goes. Not only for the device, but as well as the contract that will be accompanied alongside it. What price points are you expecting? Will you be in line at a Sprint store this summer to pick up your new HTC EVO View?! Don’t worry, we will keep you informed on all the facts about the EVO View as soon as we get them!
