Is the HTC Bliss Really What an AndroidGal Wants?

Hmmm… let me see here…Can Verizon Wireless really come out with an Android phone that is targeted for us gals?? So far the only information we have is that Verizon might be coming out with a phone by the end of this year designed for women. It is said to be a touchscreen only device with no keyboard, thin design and some grip for easier handling. The color might be a soft sea foam green for a calming effect, but I’m not sure that color will appeal to the ladies….  Here is a pic of what the device may look like (not official picture)

The phone MIGHT look like this

As of now, there has been no software information released. With that being said, I’m not quite sure what version of Android will be on it or the system specs.  I hope they keep it an HTC device thought. Just because I personally find their hardware to be really good quality. Which to me is important for any active  gal on the go.  Good battery life would also be very helpful as we all know how much we are on our phones, whether checking emails, texting, surfing the web, tweeting or talking :)  On that note-  it would be awesome if the device came preloaded with good social apps with a girly themed twist.  Just to change it up and make it more personalized towards  the gals.

But apparently, Verizon is looking to spruce it up with accessories such as a charging dock that activates the alarm mode as soon as it is connected. A matching blue-tooth headset, and a microphone to clip onto your car’s sun visor and best of all an indicator charm that attaches to the phone which lights up for notifications.  Possibly the phone might look something like this:

Now with all of that being said, I am not totally convinced that Verizon will be able to pull this off and really make it desirable.  As a Verizon customer myself, and an owner of the HTC Thunderbolt, I do think that they have been leaning towards the masculine crowd with their current line up. I do think that it would be a great addition to the Android line is a more feminine device to comes out.  However I do think Verizon needs to do some more research and find out what us Android lovin gals really want!

What do you feel the new Android phone for gals should be called? Is “Bliss” girly enough for you??  Do you think Verizon should come out with a whole line designed just for us?  What features would you like to see?  Which apps do you use to socialize with??  Maybe Big Red should donate towards a fundraiser cause with every purchase or activation—Let us know, we want to hear your opinions!

My name is Stephanie Klicpera and I am a 28 year old Gal from NY. I have an undying passion for Google and Android because of all the awesome things they have to offer. I currently own a rooted HTC Thunderbolt and do my best to make it as girly as possible. If you have a rooted Thunderbolt like me, you can also girly up your phone by using one of the themes named after me. Just look out for any theme with "Cutee" in the theme name.I started writing for AndroidGals in March of 2011 and I am loving it! I decided to get involved because I think it's important for more of us gals to learn how to utilize our Android devices and get the most out of them. I am involved in a new "girly project" over at www.teambamf.net to further educate what Android can do for us gals. To stay posted follow me on Twitter @Androidcutee

Personally I think it’s sort of silly. I mean I love my Evo and it’s girly because it’s got an awesome pink theme and the apps I love. My old Hero was girly for the same reasons. I think your android devise is what you make it, that’s what I love about them.

As a male I think it’s kinda lame. I’d like to think that women wouldn’t fall for marketing and buy the phone that suits them best. But sadly, it may work for the women that aren’t technically inclined or don’t have someone to help steer them into their purchase. Truth be told, it’s a gimmick.

Next they will make a sports phone for the males.

But if it gets more people on Android then I guess I can live with it. :)

Well isn’t that what the Xperia PLAY is?! hehehe

As a girl I think the Xperia Play is pretty awesome in theory. So I don’t think it’s necessarily targeted at males, just gamers.
