Google Goggles is a great app that uses image recognition technology to recognize objects and return relevant search results. This is very convieint for a ‘gal on the go. For those who haven’t used it, go now and try it out immediately. For those of you who have, it’s now even better! The Google Mobile Blog said it best:
Today, we are taking several steps to make Goggles a better and more personal experience. Goggles 1.4 for Android devices introduces an enhanced search history experience, the ability to suggest better results to Google if we are not able to accurately match your image, and improved business card recognition.
Notes are intended to help you better organize your search history, so if you choose to share a result with a friend, your notes will not be shared. However, you can always add a personalized message to your friend when you share your results with them.
I was able to poke around with the update, and I have to say that it runs great. Very quick and responsive, exactly the same experience before the update. I do like the addition of being able to suggest results. My favorite feature is having the ability to make notes on my search history. Especially when shopping, and find something I like. However, I want to find a better deal and do some more research. Or maybe I like just part of it so I want something similar. Who know’s what mood will strike, it’s just great to be able to note what I like or what I want to do. I have always enjoyed that Google Goggles was more then just a barcode scanning app. Now with the newly improved update, I think I’ll find it even more useful.
