Android Goes Gamer with the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY

This week will bring the Android AND gamer lovers something totally new and different. May 26 is the official launch date of the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ PLAY.  The Xperia PLAY will be released by Verizon Wireless for $200 with a 2 year contract.  According to the press release by Verizon, customers will need certain service plans.

Sony Ericsson Xperia™ Play customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a smartphone data package. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 for monthly access and an unlimited smartphone data plan is $29.99 for monthly access.

This awesome 4 inch multi touch device brings us Android™ 2.3 and has 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon II processor. It is loaded up with 7 games, which I’ll be honest is 6 and a half games more then I thought it would come with.  The preloaded games are Madden NFL 11 (EA Sports), Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior (Digital Legends), Asphalt 6: Adrenaline (Gameloft), The Sims 3 (EA), Star Battalion (Gameloft), Crash Bandicoot (Sony Playstation) and Tetris.  Sony, you had me at Tetris :) .  There will also be 50 more available through V Cast Apps on launch day.

Personally as a sort of gamer girl I LOVE this device. I hope that it really comes out strong and preforms as well as I hope it will. The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ PLAY isn’t just for games though. It comes equipped with a 5 megapixal rear facing camera and a VGA front facing camera for still shots, and of course video chat.

I’m very curious, will any of you ‘Gals be picking this Android gaming device up?
