This week will bring the Android AND gamer lovers something totally new and different. May 26 is the official launch date of the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ PLAY. The Xperia PLAY will be released by Verizon Wireless for $200 with a 2 year contract. According to the press release by Verizon, customers will need certain service plans.
Sony Ericsson Xperia™ Play customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a smartphone data package. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 for monthly access and an unlimited smartphone data plan is $29.99 for monthly access.
This awesome 4 inch multi touch device brings us Android™ 2.3 and has 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon II processor. It is loaded up with 7 games, which I’ll be honest is 6 and a half games more then I thought it would come with. The preloaded games are Madden NFL 11 (EA Sports), Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior (Digital Legends), Asphalt 6: Adrenaline (Gameloft), The Sims 3 (EA), Star Battalion (Gameloft), Crash Bandicoot (Sony Playstation) and Tetris. Sony, you had me at Tetris
. There will also be 50 more available through V Cast Apps on launch day.
Personally as a sort of gamer girl I LOVE this device. I hope that it really comes out strong and preforms as well as I hope it will. The Sony Ericsson Xperia™ PLAY isn’t just for games though. It comes equipped with a 5 megapixal rear facing camera and a VGA front facing camera for still shots, and of course video chat.
I’m very curious, will any of you ‘Gals be picking this Android gaming device up?
