Early impressions on Google Music Beta

hi-124-6

Have you tried the new Google Music Beta? What do you think of it so far? While I feel Google has the right idea there are some wrinkles that need ironed out. For example, it skips over a good percentage of my music when I attempt to sync from my PC. Has anyone else encountered this frustrating issue?

Another issue I have is while streaming music in my car via bluetooth I get long pauses during my songs. Can we say “buffering!”  I get very annoyed, especially when I’m stuck in traffic singing along. : )

The question I have is, would you pay for a membership fee to keep you Google Music account open? If so, what is it worth to you? Monthly or yearly? How much?  Let me know in the comments below. Maybe Google is listening too.

My name is Stephanie Klicpera and I am a 28 year old Gal from NY. I have an undying passion for Google and Android because of all the awesome things they have to offer. I currently own a rooted HTC Thunderbolt and do my best to make it as girly as possible. If you have a rooted Thunderbolt like me, you can also girly up your phone by using one of the themes named after me. Just look out for any theme with "Cutee" in the theme name.I started writing for AndroidGals in March of 2011 and I am loving it! I decided to get involved because I think it's important for more of us gals to learn how to utilize our Android devices and get the most out of them. I am involved in a new "girly project" over at www.teambamf.net to further educate what Android can do for us gals. To stay posted follow me on Twitter @Androidcutee

I’ve been using it since it started. It is very basic and the user interface kills a lot of space, thus I’ve customized it with stylish and my own css.

Uploading music. Yes, there have been problems. See this thread:

Essentially, Google’s music manager pretty much sucks and isn’t able to identify music properly. It’s overly picky and you will most likely need to re-tag or reconvert your music.

It’s also not very intelligent. I use it mainly as a pinned tab via keyboard shortcuts and/or an extension, and it will constantly ask if I’m still listening because I’m not on that tab. That’s just odd. Do they expect me to constantly go back to that tab all the time? What’s the point of the extensions then?

It’s seems all too typical Google these days–throwing something out to keep up with competitors, giving away a lot for free, but not making it an A+ program.

It’s OK, and I enjoy it because I don’t really need a lot these day but would I pay for it? No.

Zero, even though I’m using up their 20,000 songs limit. 150 GBs I think. Currently free. Amazing.

Yeah, I hear alot of mixed feelings from everyone. I hope Google gets it together and straightens out the bugs.
