Are you a single gal who is looking for a nice guy? Well we, the Android Couple, have just found the perfect Android app for your love life.
We, Albert and Katey, met about a month ago through a free online dating website called PlentyofFish.com. Like most online dating sites, you upload photos, create a profile, etc. Unlike some of the paid sites (match.com and eharmony.com), creating a profile is quick and easy, and personality questionnaires are optional. In fact, the reason we met was due to our shared love of smartphones, specifically Android. We’ll have to share that story sometime (it’s so sweet that it may give you diabetes).

To make our dating experiences easier with messaging and checking updates, we each downloaded the Plenty of Fish app from the Android Market. The app is new and still in beta. Although Albert did have it crash a few times, Katey had no trouble with it.
Within the app, you can check out your new matches, or use the search function to find a match that has the specific qualities you seek. You can check and respond to messages, as well as message other users. The ability to upload pics from your phone is nice (but makes those cliche’d bathroom mirror shots WAY too easy). As far as an online app goes, being able to find matches who are nearby (via GPS) is potentially cool, while also potentially creepy and stalker-ish. If you want more privacy, you can disable GPS awareness in the app settings. Even though the app has many features, it”s never confusing. The interface is clean and cute (just like the ideal guy).
Overall, the Android Couple recommends the PlentyofFish app, as it receives updates, and it’s a great way for single AndroidGals (or any type of gal) to find their perfect guy. You can download the app below. So who’s enjoying the Plenty of Fish app? Sound off in the comments!
