If you’ve tried other home launcher apps for your Android smartphone such as ADW Launcher or LauncherPro, then I guarantee you’ll LOVE Go Launcher EX! With my HTC Inspire 4G, I used to be very pro-SenseUI but after a few months I finally started getting bored of my home screens and even more importantly, the boring app drawer with the same boring stock icons.

At first I tried out ADW Launcher which I found to be very blah. It’s great if you’re not a crazy widget person like I am and just wants to get rid of Sense UI altogether. But because of the lack of visual pleasing customization, I switched over to LauncherPro and even purchased the full version to unlock some of it’s great features and widgets. But the one thing that I was looking for in my home launcher app was the ability to scroll through the app drawer horizontally rather than vertically.

This is when I discovered Go Launcher Ex and boy am I glad I did. It’s free and pretty much has all the same options and settings that you’d find in the other home launcher apps such as re-sizing widgets, customizable scrolling  dock , plus more!

Really the best part of this particular home launcher is the number of available themes you can download and install to doll up your screens. There’s a handful of different colored themes, cartoon specific themes, etc.

For once I really actually enjoy using the app drawer. I used to rely on 3rd party app drawers to keep my apps organized but with Go Launcher Ex themes, you get a cleaner look as well as the ability to customize the order of your apps and placing them in folders.

Don’t worry, if you love panda’s….. they have panda themes too!  ^.^

Another neat feature of Go Launcher Ex is when you longpress on an app, all the icons start to wiggle (pretty much like customizing the icons on an iPhone) indicating it’s in edit mode. But that’s not the neat part….what’s neat is you can also uninstall the app directly from the app drawer! No more having to go into Settings, then Applications, then Manage Applications, then waiting for the list of apps to load….

I find this extremely convenient when it’s that time to go trough all my apps again to see what I don’t use or need and start picking out those that needs to be uninstalled.
