We’ve reviewed a number of food and recipe apps here at AndroidGals – everything from your standard Betty Crocker cookbook to an app dedicated to all things Steak. However, if you’re looking to give your next party that truly geeky gal touch, look no farther for recipes than Wear the Cheese. [more]
The quirky and fun folks at Wearthecheese.com have released an Android app that brings all the fun of their website right to your handheld. What is Wear the Cheese you might ask? Gals Kelli & Allegra show you how to make all of your favorite television and movie geek food fare – from Fruity Oaty Bars of Firefly and Serenity fame to more mainstream adaptation of Frasier’s tossed salad and scrambled eggs.
The app itself, as they state plainly in the description, is made with AppMakr.com. It has a simple menu that lets you choose from a variety of the web site’s RSS feeds including “tv” episodes, the podcast, and Flickr or Twitter feeds. When I compared their app to the mobile site, as rendered on my Droid X, I found features of both that I liked. The app lets you choose easily between the various RSS feeds, while the mobile version of their site has a great posts page that’s sorted by different categories of the posts – which is usually by show.
No matter which you choose – app, mobile site, or full site – if you want to play with your food or just put together the best spread for your next geek watch party, you definitely need to check out the gals over at Wear The Cheese. What other great apps do you use to make cooking fun?
Grab the Wear the Cheese app now!
