Okay, here’s a quick disclaimer: I was somewhat hesitant to download this app when I first saw it in the Android Market.  Why?  The name of “Scary Ringtones” sounded pretty basic and uninspiring.  Forging ahead, I downloaded the app but still expected a below average experience.  I’m proud to say that I got this one wrong and that you should skip the assumption stuff and check it out.

This app isn’t the most complex title, but it gets an A+ from me for content! There are 42 scary ringtones to choose from, some of which really frightened me.  Take for instance sounds from little girls and women screeching with high-pitched noises and nails scratching…..very VERY unsettling!

Aura Ringtones really nailed the Halloween spirit on this! With in the applications settings, you can easily change your Ringtone, Notification, or Alarm tone preference. The other option you have, after you preview the tone, you can long press it. You will then prompted to assign that tone to all of the above mentioned options, but also to assign it to a contact. There are a few classics sounds included in this app like “howling” or”screams. However, the more unique sounds, well they might make you cringe with fear!

Have fun getting your Andy in the Halloween spirit this year. This app will definitely be the hit of your next Halloween gathering. Let me know if you freak out any of your friends!
