I have been a Flickr pro user for about three years now. I’ve used a few good apps that allow me to post from my phone to Flickr, but a true Flickr app was really what I wanted. When Flickr released their app at the end of September, they gave us loads of great features.
The Flickr app doesn’t include a camera or any editing tools, other than a few basic post effects. However, you can use other apps to take the photos and then upload them to Flickr’s site via the Flickr app. You can also launch the device’s on board camera app from within the Flickr app for quick picture taking and uploading. The Flickr app also gives you the ability to quickly post to your Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, or Blogger feeds.
There is a group on Flickr’s site, where you can post photos, get help with the app, and just hang out with other users.
I’m terribly disappointed that Photo Session – the new feature that Flickr launched when they released the Android app – isn’t yet available on the Android platform, but I’m hoping they’ll extend that capability soon.
I’m in the middle of my second unsuccessful 365 Photo project (take a photo a day every day for 365 straight days). but I’m vowing to start again on January 1, 2012, and the Flickr app will surely prove useful.
So, if you’d like to give the official Flickr app a try, you can download it from the Market by using the box below!
Do you have great camera and photo sharing apps you couldn’t live without? Let us know in the comments!
