When I first explored this game, I just did what I do when I play any game: trial and error with little strategy involved. As my method failed in producing element combinations, I knew it was time to exercise the brain, and comb the Android Market reviews for hints.
With only four elements to start, Alchemy (by Andrey ‘Zed’ Zaikin) will test your knowledge in pairing elements. Your starting elements are Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The object of the game is to combine them and their products together for a total of 380 elements.
Upon opening the app, there is a short tutorial, because the game is simple in terms of functionality. In order to make the four elements appear again you double tap on the main screen. To create multiples of the same element, such as water + water = sea, double tap on that element. Once an element has been created, it is logged in a elements list that you can select from at any time by tapping the “+.” If you wish to trash your elements to create more room, drag them to the “+” button, which turns into a trash can.
If you want to know more information about the elements, just hold one over the “i” button on the bottom left of the screen. This is a good source for figuring out other element products. This info button also links up with wiki definitions of the elements, which helpsl. If you’re looking for hints, just tap the info button and it directs you to the Alchemy Store to plug-in a unique ID, or check out the reviews.
Alchemy is free from the Market, unless you’d like Alchemy Premium, which is ad-free for $3.95. The Premium version provides you with no Ads and an UNDO button. If you finally crack a difficult element, please comment with a hint so that other Android gals can unlock all 380 elements!
So what are you waiting for? Get to playing!
