These days, the majority of my travel is for business, and I’m a bit spoiled when it comes to making travel arrangements, as we have someone in our office who handles it all. The few times I attempted to search flights on my own, I found myself spending a good chunk of time sifting through several travel sites looking for the best airfare deals, and quite frankly I felt a little overwhelmed.
I downloaded On the Fly by ITA Software last week, and have been trying it out by searching flights for some upcoming trips. This is a handy little app to have, especially for those who do quite a bit of travel, or when those last-minute trips come up and you can’t access a PC right away. You have the option to save your searches and store them under the My Itineraries tab, as well as email it to yourself, your assistant, and/or travel department. Just hit the button, and it will automatically open up Gmail with an email ready to send.
If you are searching to book flights with the absolute best airfare deals or travel packages, you may be better off sticking with the more traditional bargain discount travel sites. On the Fly only allows you to look up airfare directly from the major airlines, and you will still need to call the airline directly to ultimately book your flight.
Overall it’s a good app and a keeper on my phone. If you decide to download it, there is a feedback button in the Itinerary section of the app so you can let the folks at ITA Software know what you think.
So, if you do a lot of traveling, and you’d like to give On the Fly a try, you can download it for free by using the box below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment, and tell us what you use to book your travel arrangements!
