How many of you use your phone or tablet when following recipes during cooking? I use my Xoom all the time! It comes in handy but I am always worried I will get it messy from touching it, or something will spill. I came across this really cool app today that I can’t wait to try!!! It’s called Digital Recipe Sidekick and It’s developed by Handy Apps by Greg Milette It is so neat!
It has some really tasty sounding recipes already on it, like Banana Bread. I absolutely love banana bread! So, if I want to make it, I click on it from the main menu. There it will show the recipe, but if you click on Start Cooking button, you will be amazed. A pop up screen will show with three choices on interaction. Speech and buttons, Claps and buttons, and also Buttons only. To get started you can call out or make a loud noise. “Henri” will answer back with a “Yes” or whatnot. The mic will come up and you can say something like “Ingredients” or “Step 1″. He or she will read them to you. You don’t have to touch the screen on your android at all!
Another cool feature of this app is ,you can import and export recipes! You can go to a website like www.Allrecipes.com and you will be able to import recipes to your app!! You will be able to sort your recipes from Title or Category. Didn’t I mention this app is so cool?! I will be using it here soon and I’m excited!
You can find this wonderful app in the Android Market, for Free. Head over there and check it out. Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below in the box.
