Early impressions on Google Music Beta

hi-124-6

Have you tried the new Google Music Beta? What do you think of it so far? While I feel Google has the right idea there are some wrinkles that need ironed out. For example, it skips over a good percentage of my music when I attempt to sync from my PC. Has anyone else encountered this frustrating issue?

Another issue I have is while streaming music in my car via bluetooth I get long pauses during my songs. Can we say “buffering!”  I get very annoyed, especially when I’m stuck in traffic singing along. : )

ROMS and Themes to Beautify your Thunderbolt

HtcAG_banner2

Hey all you ROOTED gals out there! I have been flashing and testing the different ROMS and Themes that are available for the Thunderbolt for as long as development has been available for it. I have compiled a list of my favorites and most stable versions to put your minds at ease that you will have a properly functioning phone.

First I want to start off by going over the different options that I have flashed and enjoyed. Froyo, Gingerbread, and HTC Sense 3.0 based Gingerbread.

Pros and Cons to Rooting your HTC Thunderbolt

As a rooted Thunderbolt owner myself, I see no reasons why anyone should not have the same. It may seem a bit intimidating in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it- you will be HOOKED! I have compiled a list of Pros and Cons of why you should or shouldn’t ROOT your TBolt.

Lets start with the PROS:

  • No Bloatware
  • Back up applications and data
  • Wireless Tethering
  • Custom ROMS which allows for most recent Android OS prior to official release
  • Custom Kernels that allow CPU overclocking/underclocking
  • Tweak system performance and battery usage
  • Use of applications with Root privileges only
  • Custom themes beyond basic skins
  • Custom Boot animations, splash screens and fonts
  • Ability to take screen shots of your home screen or a running application

Video Walkthrough for Rooting Evo 3D, Sensation

SassiBoB is at it again! This time with a video walk through on how to Perma-Temp Root the HTC Sensation and EVO3D. Remember, this is only a temporary root. This means that any changes made will be reset back to stock on any reboot.

Until we see some unlocked bootloader love from HTC, this is the only option out there. However, if you do lose root, now all you have to do is open terminal on your device, and then type “SU” followed by “fixit”. Easy enough to restore SU permissions!

Grocery Smart’s Shopping List is a Very Useful App for Extreme Couponing

f-1024-9

Extreme couponing is not only an art form; with the downturn of the economy, its a necessity. There are several apps available for Android but the most useful, in my opinion, is Grocery Smart.

Once you create a new grocery list within the app, it will ask you what state you are in. Then it will ask you where you frequently shop at. It will upload a shopping list for you showing the cost of the item in that store. and how much you’ll save based on available coupons. It tells you that particular store’s coupon policy and it prompts you to email yourself the coupons to print from your pc. Genius!
